At Northern Star Teaching (UK) Ltd we ensure that we comply with the rules and regulations as set down by the Dfes Circular 7/96 Guidance regarding the use of supply teachers.
Qualification Check
As part of the registration procedure it is required that the applicant's original certificates are brought to the interview for a visual check. These may then be photocopied and kept in the individual teacher's file. Where the applicant may have mislaid the originals Northern Star Teaching (UK) Ltd Supply will gain confirmation of their qualifications from the appropriate body.
Identity Checks
Northern Star Teaching (UK) Ltd verify the identity of each and every one of their staff against two official documents one of which must include a photograph i.e. passport or photo card driving license. A copy of this photograph or a new one is taken and kept on file.
Medical Declaration
A medical declaration must be completed and signed by the applicant.
Reference Checks
We obtain at least two references for each applicant. These references are confidential and at least one is from an educational institution.
Interviews
We carry out an extremely detailed interview before deciding whether or not the applicant is suitable to join our team and enter our client schools, as we realise that our reputation is in the hands of our teachers. Interviews are conducted at our offices on a face-to-face basis by our knowledgeable consultants in accordance with strict guidelines. At this time the final section of a criminal record check will be completed by a CRB authorised member of administrative staff.
